These are thicker North American Maple shells that pack a punch. Incorporating HVLT (Vertical Low Timbre shell with a horizontal outer ply), Design Series shells are full, resonant, and responsive.
My title says it all really. For the price this is a great sounding and looking snare. The finish is immaculate, the 8” depth sounds great at a medium tuning (all I’ve tried so far)…I left the stock heads on it for now and they are great. I did upgrade the plastic snare straps with some colored ribbon, which I do on all my user snares. I’d highly recommend this drum to any level of player!
