Gretsch 8X14 “Swamp Dawg” Mahogany Snare Drum

The deep Gretsch 8" x 14" Full Range Swamp Dawg Mahogany Snare Drum can tune extra low for that throaty, dark, "swampy" tone you hear on recordings from the 70s, enhanced by the 6-ply mahogany shell that naturally boosts low frequencies.

Crank the tuning up to mid or high levels and you'll get some nice results too - the drum never sounds thin.

Tube lugs contact a very small amount of surface area on the shell while 2.3mm triple-flanged hoops let the drum breathe for a greater amount of ring. 42-strand snare wires and a coated Remo Emperor batter head give it plenty of bite.
