Ludwig Aluminum Slotted Coliseum 8”x14” Snare Drum – Limited Edition (L903XXCA)

The Ludwig Aluminum Slotted Coliseum 8”x14” Snare Drum (L903XXCA) marks the return of one of the most sought-after designs in Ludwig history, reimagined for a new generation of drummers. For the first time ever, Ludwig’s legendary slotted sound venting system is paired with a metal shell, creating a unique combination of explosive projection, focused attack, and controlled sustain. Built around a massive 6mm cast seamless aluminum shell, this limited-edition snare delivers incredible power while maintaining the sensitivity and articulation expected from a world-class instrument.

The deep 8” shell provides enormous body and presence, while the slotted Coliseum venting system enhances projection and responsiveness, allowing the drum to cut through any musical environment with authority. Die-cast hoops contribute to focused tone and exceptional tuning stability, while the P88 throw-off, P35 butt plate, and Puresound Super 30 snare wires ensure professional-level performance and reliability. Factory-installed Remo Controlled Sound coated batter and Ambassador hazy snare-side heads complete a package built for drummers who demand maximum impact and precision. Finished with Ludwig’s iconic Blue/Olive badge and large twin lugs, the Aluminum Slotted Coliseum is a true collector’s piece, limited to only 100 drums worldwide and proudly handcrafted in the USA.
