Description

Mike Jackson, Winter Guard International (WGI) Hall of Fame member, has been arranging, teaching and designing shows for some of the nation’s most recognized marching percussion programs for nearly two decades. The list includes two-time WGI World Champion Mission Viejo High School, Riverside Community College and the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum & Bugle Corps. He sits on the Board of Directors for WGI and is also a co-founder and current board member for the Southern California Percussion Alliance (SCPA). “Over the years, I have played all of the Vic Firth marching sticks. The trick was to develop a stick that would deliver that sound and yet not compromise the durability of the stick. Together with Vic Firth, we have indeed created such a stick.” The new Mike Jackson signature stick features a thick shoulder followed by a long taper for quick rebound and great “ping-shot” sound quality. A long reverse taper pushes more mass to the front of the stick, and the neck flourishes up to an oval tip. All this results in a stick that produces great sound, balance and durability.
