Simplicity perfected
Yamaha has taken an old classic and perfected it. There are no gas hydraulics, or outrageous seat cover designs. This is simply a solid piece of double braced metal, with high quality hardware and chrome appointments. The seat is wonderfully firm, but comfortable. The stitching is strong and precise. Its easy to set the height and lock it down.
Takes only a minute to put this throne together, and it is extremely stable. I have mine on super deep pile carpet, and with me at 220lbs, it doesn't wobble a bit.
You won't find a better made drum throne for the money. Steve Gadd uses one of these and its easy to see why, its the ultimate pro tool for the serious drummer.

Amazing Strength!!!
I am about 300 Pounds. I used the rocNsoc throne for years, and even have 2 counter height chairs in my home with rocNsoc tops.
I could tell the rNs seat base, even top was not really holding up.
After I sold the throne I looked, shopped, and shopped. I had all DW 9000 hardware for my drum kit(see video on You Tube under Another Clear Window's channel).
I swore by all the double braced high end, top of the line products for years. After doing my own in depth research I foind the Yamaha single braced light weight hardware to be
I sold all of my DW Hardware, and rocNsoc throne. I bought the Yamaha Hardware(single braced which weighs about half the weight of high end DW) and this Yamaha Drum Throne, the DS-840.
Right out of the box this thing was incredible! The base is a tank! It is way more solid than the rocNsoc or even the Pork Pie high end thrones out there. This is the only piece of double braced hardware I own now. It has to be strong to hold me up for years to come. The top is even decent. it is just big enough, and enough padding(memory foam I believe) that stays comfortable. It really lets you relax on the kit without a lot of adjusting. WAY TO GO YAMAHA!!!
