The Ahead Rubber/Square Felt Beater is the chameleon of the bass drum world. Featuring a unique, reversible square-head design, it gives you two completely different sonic identities in one lightweight package. On one side, you have a high-density square felt for a broad, traditional punch; on the other, a hard rubber face that delivers a dense, modern "thump" with immediate rebound.
Because of the square profile, you get a larger surface area of contact with the drumhead compared to rounded beaters. This results in a "fatter" sound that fills the room without requiring you to bury your foot into the floorboards. Like all beaters in the Speed Kick series, it’s mounted on a balanced, aerodynamic shaft to ensure your speed never suffers for your tone.
